Some good news: crib sales are forecast to rise 20.1% in the next five years according to the most recent forecasts by New York-based Easy Analytic Software Inc. (EASI). According to the data, crib sales will increase from $959 million in 2011 to $1,152 million in 2016. That’s an increase of more than 20%!
EASI's exclusive figures are based on expected changes in population within the various regions, along with their accompanying shifts in income. However, local economic conditions, such as unemployment or store closings are not taken into account. The figures also assume a national rate of inflation that does not vary from one location to another.
This report provides the 20 fastest-growing metro markets for cribs, the 20 largest metro markets for cribs, and regional projections by state for crib retail sales.
Kids Today market research worked with EASI to develop 2011 sales estimates and 2016 projections for cribs. The 2011 sales estimates are based on data available through September 2011 and are subject to revision as additional data become available. Estimates are based on information from the Department of Commerce, the International Trade Commission, sales estimates from manufacturers and retailers, Furniture/Today and HGTV's 2011 Consumer Views Survey as well as discussions with industry executives and analysts.
