Area Rug sales over the next five years are expected to increase nationally by 12.6%, going from $5 billion in 2008 to $5.6 billion in 2013, according to the most recent projections by New York-based Easy Analytic Software Inc. (EASI). The report also includes estimates of 2008 area rug sales, along with projections of 2013 sales for each of the four census regions. Home Accents Today market research worked with EASI to develop sales estimates and projections for Area Rugs. Last year's sales estimates for each product category are based on data available through August 2008 and are subject to revision as additional data becomes available.
