In 2009, U.S. furniture imports and exports each decreased by 21% from the previous year’s figures.
Furniture Today’s exclusive import data includes the largest source countries of U.S. furniture imports, as well as the top furniture products shipped to the United States. Export data includes the largest buyers of U.S. furniture exports and furniture exports by product category.
Data is based on the dollar values declared by importers and exporters to the U.S. Customs Service. The figures are coded according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and made available to Furniture Today by the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. Customs Service. Furniture Today’s Market Research department further analyzes the data to extract furniture not intended for residential use.
