The largest bedding specialty chain in the country was also the fastest growing Top 100 company last year.

Houston-based Mattress Firm, which holds the No. 5 spot on Furniture/Today's Top 100, claimed the title of Fastest Growing for the second time in four years, fueled by its rapid store expansion and sales growth.

The retailer, which ended its Feb. 3 fiscal year with 2,208 primarily company owned stores and $1.93 billion in total sales, finished in the Top 10 of four out of five performance measures Furniture/ Today uses to determine the fastest growing index — percentage sales growth, net sales growth, percentage store growth and net store growth.

Furniture Today's exclusive report spotlighting the fastest-growing furniture stores is based on the 2015 and 2014 surveys of the Top U.S. Furniture Stores that appeared in the May 18, 2015, issue.

The exclusive report includes: *Top growth leaders in furniture sales, based on net sales increases and percentage increases *Top growth leaders in units, based on the number of units and percentage increase in units *Top growth leaders in equivalent-store sales *Top growth index leaders *Complete list of companies featured in the report, with this year's Top 100 ranking.

Sales of furniture, bedding and decorative accessories, including lamps, area rugs and wall décor, were used in determining the sales growth leaders, rather than total store revenues.
