As per the EASI forecasts, outdoor dining set sales in the U.S. will increase to nearly $3.2 billion in 2015 up from $2.9 billion in 2010.
Regionally, the fastest-growing area will be the West, with expected growth of 12.2% over the five-year timeframe. The South can look forward to growth of 11.1%, an increase from 2010’s near $1.1 billion to $1.2 billion in 2015. If EASI projections hold true, the Northeast’s growth will reach 8.2% and the Midwest will garner sales growth in outdoor dining of 7.4% during the same time period.
Casual Living market research worked with EASI to develop 2010 sales estimates and 2015 projections for outdoor dining sets. The 2010 sales estimates are based on data available through September 2010 and are subject to revision as additional data become available. Estimates are based on information from the Department of Commerce, the International Trade Commission, sales estimates from manufacturers and retailers, Furniture Today and Casual Living’s HGTV 2010 Consumer Views Surveys, as well as discussions with industry executives and analysts.
