The demographic group known as the Millennials is the first generation to come of age in the new millennium. With adult members between 18 and 31, they're individualistic, racially diverse, educated and technologically advanced. They multi-task and crave instant gratification and stimulation. Furniture/Today surveyed this important group through an exclusive partnership with New York-based Apartment Therapy, a leading online home decorating source.
In asking Millennials where they regularly shop for furniture and why, the answer was loud and clear. An amazing 100% of respondents go to lifestyle furniture stores. Specifically, nearly half mentioned Ikea, while one-fourth each named West Elm and Crate & Barrel stores.
