Casual Living's Fabric Survey 2014

Ninety-six percent of outdoor retailers and designers say that fabric color will be important or very important to customers this year; while fabric design and patterns are predicted to be important by 95% of respondents, according to Casual Living’s exclusive 2014 Fabric Survey.

Fielded in October and November, Casual Living’s annual fabric survey presents 2014 fabric color and pattern projections for outdoor furniture retail stores and designers. Twenty-eight percent of respondents have locations in the South, 25% percent in the West, 25% in the Northeast; and 22% in the Midwest. Thirty percent of the respondents are outdoor specialty retailers, 13% are full-line furniture stores, 49% are designers and the remaining 8% are direct-to-consumer and hardware stores .

Fifty-one percent of the respondents garnered less than $1 million in annual sales for 2013, 29% had between $1 million and $4.99 million and 11% had $5 million to $9.99 million. Nine percent of respondents recorded $10 million or more in annual sales for 2013.
