Home Accents Today's Consumer Buying Trends: Framed Art

Originally published in the July 2011 print issue of Home Accents Today

Nearly seven million U.S. households purchased framed wall art in 2010 and another five million have plans to buy this year. That's according to the findings of Home Accents Today's exclusive Consumer Buying Trends survey, which was conducted in late 2010 among a nationally-representative sample of 2,500 U.S. households.

Across the country, framed art buyers spend a median of $100 on their purchase. That means that half of all buyers spent less than $100 and half spent more than $100. Buyers living in the Northeast region of the country spent the most, a median of $150, while households living in the South spent a median of $100 and those in the Midwest and West each spent a median of $90 on framed art purchases.

This exclusive consumer data originates from the responses of 2,500 U.S. households to an online survey conducted in December 2010. Sister publication Furniture/Today worked with TNS, a Kantar Group Company, to examine home furnishings shopping and buying patterns in 2010 and buying plans for 2011.

U.S. households were asked whether they shopped for framed wall art in 2010, bought in 2010, how much they spent in 2010 and if they planned to buy framed wall art in 2011.
