Casual Living magazine's exclusive Universe Study provides sales totals for casual home furnishings in 2003 at retail, as well as percentage and dollar breakdowns by specific casual products and through all distribution channels.
Casual and outdoor accessories have been excluded from the Universe Study. Within this broad designation are a variety of products, everything from candles, clocks and outdoor thermometers to larger items such as potting benches, serving carts and baker's racks, each of which has a different distribution pattern.
The research was conducted by Casual Living's market research department, led by Director of Market Research Kay Anderson and Research Specialist Dana French.
